Rosanna brings international expertise in gender-responsive disaster risk reduction (DRR), women's leadership, and gender equality in DRR, with a focus on international disaster law and policy. She has contributed to projects with UNDRR, UN Women, ADB, and IFRC, conducting comprehensive gender and DRR research across SAARC Member States, Fiji, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea.
Her work includes developing the report Accelerating action on gender equality in disaster risk reduction by 2030. As well as key contributions to publications such as the UNDRR Global Assessment Report (GAR) 2022, UN Joint Study on Gender Equality in DRR 2021, UNDRR Study on Women-led Multi-hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS) 2021, and IFRC South Asia IDRL Mapping 2021.
With a Masters in Environment and Sustainability and a Bachelor of Biology, Rosanna combines strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of policy, institutions, and their impacts on the world around us. Previously as Partnerships Manager at an INGO focused on education access for women and girls, she excelled in stakeholder engagement, communications, and technical program review aligned with global standards like SDGs and Sendai Framework indicators.
At Monash University, Rosanna facilitated post-graduate courses on Corporate Sustainability, demonstrating her ability to simplify complex concepts and eye for detail.
