About this project

The UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction (GAR) is the flagship report of the United Nations on worldwide efforts to reduce disaster risk and is published by the UNDRR. It is the product of many contributions, including from States and disaster risk-related science and research stakeholders, amongst others.

Dr. Mary Picard provided support to UNDRR Geneva for the overall content editing for the Global Assessment Report 2019 (GAR19) and from January 2019 took on the part lead author role for Part III on national implementation of disaster risk reduction in the context of climate change and development, conducting additional research, writing and editing.
