About this project

This report was part of an Asia-Pacific regional project on Women’s Resilience to Disasters and Climate Change in Asia and the Pacific. Dr Mary Picard, working with Justice Robyn Layton, consulted on laws and policies to support women’s resilience to climate change and disasters in Asia and the Pacific (Fiji, Lao PDR, Mongolia and global). This project included two streams:

(1) Regional good practice guide on how legislative frameworks can support women’s resilience to climate change and disasters (pictured above, this report can be used as a good practice guide and tool for policy makers on developing laws that support women’s resilience to climate change and disaster risk); and

(2) National case studies in law and policy analysis and capacity building on gender analysis and gender mainstreaming in CC and DRM, including national reports and regional policy brief (with Robyn Layton): Fiji, Lao PDR, Mongolia.

Project included desk research, gender analysis of laws and policies, in-country stakeholder consultations (government and civil society), capacity development workshops, and incorporation of feedback.
